Even without the addition of a slug of brandy, you’d get drunk on the heady taste of this fabulous hot chocolate drink. Surely the ultimate comfort drink. Cures everything from a broken-heart to bunions. Honestly.

Gear needed:

Not very long at all
No cooking! Hurrah!
4 servings
4 tall glasses if you plan on sharing or just 1 tall glass if you’re going to drink it all yourself. I know which I’d do. |
What you need:
150ml
900 ml
3tbsp
1 tbsp
250g
|
Double cream
Milk
Caster sugar
Brandy – or more if you’re in the mood
Dark continental chocolate |
Make my heart melt:
- Lightly whip the cream and put it to one side. Chop the chocolate into fine pieces
- Heat the milk in a saucepan.
- Remove from the heat and whisk in the sugar, brandy and most of the chocolate – saving just enough to sprinkle on the top.
- Spoon into the glasses and top with a flourish of whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate.
- Curl up on the sofa with a good book and savour.
